While the polishes have a slight shimmer, they aren’t shiny. I think matte polishes are a great solution for the time you want to look put together without screaming “notice me!” This is the type of polish I’d wear to work or a business meeting.

Zoya Matte Velvet Swatches - Loreda

Zoya Matte Velvet contains these six shades:

  • Harlow – Matte orchid with a shimmer
  • Loredana – Gunmetal grey with a silver shimmer

Zoya Matte Velvet Swatches - Savita

  • Savita – Cool purple with a shimmer
  • Dovima – Charcoal black with a shimmer

Zoya Matte Velvet Swatches - Veruschka

  • Veruschka – Forest green with a shimmer
  • Posh – Berry red with a shimmer

Zoya Matte Velvet Swatches - Harlow

Do I need a top coat?

Because of the way that matte polishes are made, they are intended to be worn without a base or top coat. They also won’t wear as long as a traditional Zoya polish. I think that’s a fair trade-off to get these gorgeous matte colors and I’m really starting to love matte more than shine right now.

Zoya Matte Velvet Swatches - Posh

I had a difficult time choosing which polish I liked the best. I’d say it’s a tie with Harlow and Posh. I really love the shimmer that they both have and the vibrant color is a great choice for winter.
