The comfort of bare feet & the stye of high fashion with Ballasox!

Last Updated on October 2, 2021 by Ellen Christian

I’ve never been one to go barefooted in the summer. While I love the feeling and freedom that bare feet allow, I am just way too in love with my shoes to abandon them like that. In the summer, I do find myself choosing different types of shoes to wear. I want shoes that are comfortable, lightweight and breathable. Of course, they also have to be stylish at the same time. I’m not sacrificing style for comfort.

I recently learned about a new shoe on the block called Ballasox. They’re offered by Corso Como Shoes, a company I’ve had the pleasure of working with in the past. If you’re not familiar with Corso Como, here’s a bit about their company:

The Corso Como philosophy is to provide you with beautifully crafted shoes that exhibit fresh innovations in style, impeccable detail, and luxurious comfort. Hand assembled in the most elite boutique factories, our shoes are composed of the finest materials available in the marketplace. We are dedicated to create shoes that boast an unparalleled level of comfort that until now was considered inconsistent with high fashion footwear.

Ballasox are a comfortable stretch sandal that is not only extremely stylish but a pleasure to wear. The Festive Gold Ballasox that I received has a soft, form-fitting sock sewn into the lining of a butter skin leather upper and cushy rubber sole. Because it’s so flexible and comfortable, it arrived rolled up in its very own sparkly gold carrying pouch. How cool is that!

I wasn’t entirely certain how comfortable wearing rolled up shoes was going to be but they instantly conformed to my foot when I put them on. The soft sock inside is extremely comfortable and breathable and definitely works as a great summer shoe. It’s perfect for traipsing all over town sightseeing or an impromptu trip to the mall. I love how it looks with skinny jeans but it would work just as well with a summer dress.

The Ballasox is available in a variety of sizes from 6-13. Different colors are available in different size. I was so impressed that I found everything from the gold I received to hot pink and black. This is definitely a shoe I need to have more of. Ballasox can be purchased from a variety of online and department stores for about $60.

Connect with Corso Como Shoes on Facebook to keep up with all the latest styles.

  1. I think that I should get some like these for an upcoming trip! I want to take something dressy for dinners, but don’t want to wear heels after walking all day! These look like a good solution. 🙂

  2. These are cute! I can’t stand walking barefoot, either, and sometimes, flip flops are too casual.

  5. These look really comfortable. They would be perfect to carry in your purse/bag after a night at the club. I love heels but after a long night, I can’t wait to get out of them.
