Sally Hansen Crackle Nails

Last Updated on October 6, 2021 by Ellen Christian

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you all know I have a passion for nail polish. I just cannot feel completely dressed unless my nails are coated in the latest colors. Wandering through the blogosphere recently, I saw a photo of a woman’s nails that caught my eyes. Not only were they exquisitely painted… they seemed to have this funky crackled look to them! How cool is that! I absolutely had to find out more.

After doing a little bit more digging, I realized that there is a new nail polish on the block from Sally Hansen. It’s their Crackle Coat and what it does is give this really cool crackled mosaic finish to your nails.

What you do is start out with a base nail polish of your choice. Then you choose Sally Hansen’s Crackle Overcoat and brush that on top of your dry nails. After that, you follow up with a clear overcoat to preserve your polish.  I am absolutely in love with this polish.  You can choose contrasting colors if you really want to stand out – picture black on pink or white on purple.  Or if you want to be a little more sedate, try a dark pink on a lighter pink or white on coral.  Using this three step process, my nails lasted quite some time and I was really pleased with how they turned out.

Colors available are: antiqued gold, snow blast, vintage violet, fuchsia shock, distressed denim, cherry splash, ink splatter and fractured foil. The crackle overcoat is wet to set in 60 seconds.  Great time saver! I’ve seen them for sale for about $6 at Walgreens but they are also available on Amazon.

Don’t forget to Like them on Facebook and enter their cool Crackle Contest if you’re ages 13-24.
