Starbox Beauty Sample Box

Last Updated on February 6, 2022 by Ellen Christian

A Starbox beauty sample box is a monthly beauty subscription box that allows you to receive three or four full sized beauty products each month for $15 plus shipping.  Unlike some monthly beauty subscription boxes, all of the products contained in your Starbox will be their brand – Starlooks – and not from other brands.  Products may include makeup, hair products, or accessories and will all be full sized.

Being a member of the Starbox Beauty Sample Program comes with benefits.  You can earn Starbox Points for referrals to subscriptions and there is a generous rewards program that earns you points that can be redeemed for retail product.  If you visit www.starlooks.com, you can find all sorts of beauty information and tips, including expert interviews, helpful tutorials, and fun videos about how to apply and where/when to use their products.

I received the October Starbox which included a gorgeous purple pigment eyeshadow in a color called Posh (SRP $12), a moisture rich lipstick in a shade called masquerade which is a deep red with a bit of orange shimmer (SRP $11), and an eyeliner pencil in gold called golden dust (SRP $8).  As an extra bonus, I also included an Eye Rock eye tattoo which will be fun to play with for Halloween.  Each box also includes several slivers of quartz that I have started collecting to display.  You can see that the retail of these products makes this monthly Starbox well worth the $15 fee.  You do not get to choose the products you want and they are not personalized to your skin tone or coloring.  Their site says that they choose colors that will be suitable for everyone.

The Starlooks brand is not one I had any experience with before now.   The pigment eyeshadow is absolutely amazing.  The color is vibrant. It applies easily and smoothly and definitely lasts a long time.  I found it easy to apply both on my lid and below my bottom lashes.  A very little bit goes a long way.  The gold eyeliner is perfect for lining your waterline since it contains no glitter.   I used it under my eyes along with some of the purple pigment eyeshadow. Very smooth and easy to apply.  The moisture rich lipstick was a bit of a challenge since I never wear red or orange.  What I did to make it work for me was to apply a clear gloss to my lips and then use a lip brush to brush on only the tiniest bit of the lipstick for color.  Applying a clear gloss to my lips toned down the color quite a bit so I could pull it off.

This is the look I got using the products from the October Starbox:

I really love that Starbox lets me play with colors and shades I might not normally try.  This is a really fun way to step out of your comfort zone once a month and experiment with something new. I got tons of compliments on this look when I did it and I wouldn’t have normally have gone this bright.

If you’re considering a beauty box subscription, I definitely recommend Starbox.

  1. I love purple for my eyes. I have brown eyes and I think it makes them look the best. This is a pretty shade of purple too. Thanks for sharing! Going to check them out now.

  2. I can’t believe that I am saying this but I really like the purple on the eyes. At first I was thinking NO WAY, but when you demonstrated it, I realized it was a pretty possibility. Thanks for showing us everything in the box. Nice pictures.
